Summary
Are you an experienced nurse looking for a change in career direction, newly qualified or about to qualify? If you are interested in developing skills and experience within the speciality of surgery, then we would love to hear from you.
We are looking for a passionate, enthusiastic, and hard-working nurse to work in our acute surgical unit on Silvertown at Newham University Hospital . You will work as a part of the Multidisciplinary Team with additional support from our Clinical Practice Educator, and Nurse Specialists. There are many learning opportunities available including wound and pain management, health promotion, patient education, attending pre- operative teaching and pre-assessment clinic, pre-operative care, intra operative observation and discharge planning. Surgical nursing is highly rewarding and will provide you with plenty of scope to develop further specialist skills and roles.

• Post-operative care for patients following: General Surgery, Urology and admission under trauma pathway.
• Post -operative care of trauma patients includes: rib fracture management and spinal injury pathway.
• Work alongside members of the multi-disciplinary team to rehabilitate patients following surgery and planning their discharge home.
• Involvement in nursing specialist link nursing programmes
