Full time hours on a temporary basis
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced planning professional to join our team as a Major Infrastructure Projects Delivery Officer. This is a pivotal role in shaping the future of our region through the delivery of complex and high-profile infrastructure projects.
You will be responsible for assessing and making recommendations on complex and potentially controversial planning applications, often involving nationally significant infrastructure. Your work will directly influence the development and sustainability of our communities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead on the assessment of major infrastructure planning applications, providing clear, evidence-based recommendations.
- Prepare and present complex reports for senior officers, elected members, and external stakeholders.
- Represent the authority at public inquiries, hearings, and other formal proceedings, giving expert evidence.
- Exercise initiative and discretion in managing sensitive and high-impact projects.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to ensure compliance with planning legislation, policies, and best practices.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of planning policy and procedures.
