Use a range of assessment skills and knowledge of psychometric tools appropriate for the client group. With the overall supervision of a clinically qualified psychologist, plan and prioritise their own work load. Use computerised systems for record keeping and reference. Communicate complex information sensitively. Implement therapeutic programmes, group sessions or other aspects of care programmes on a clinically supervised basis To engage in periods of concentrated effort, both mental and physical (report writing, assessment sessions). Be required to work with individuals who have experienced or may experience emotional distress. This may involve being exposed to aggression in face-to-face work with patients: a high degree of professionalism must be maintained at all times. Receive regular clinical supervision from a senior clinical psychologist in accordance with good practice guidelines and the overall framework of the services policies and procedures. Contribute directly and indirectly to a psychologically based framework of understanding and care to the benefit of all clients of the service, across all settings and agencies serving the client group. Use a variety of methods to communicate complex information in an understandable manner. This includes using trust-approved interpreters, written and diagrammatic information, audiotapes and role-plays.
