Rodney Parade, Central Newport
I am a 46-year-old female with MS, and I reside in the Rodney parade area, central Newport. I have recently started to struggle with my mobility and use a wheelchair at present, so I need support with my daily living in my home environment and getting out in the community.
TASKS REQUIRED
I am looking for support with everyday tasks, with a focus getting me of my wheelchair and back to using a walking frame. Each day I will need support with the following tasks:
o Transfers from my bed to wheelchair
o Supporting me to get ready with showering and getting dressed in the morning
o Supporting me with me therapy - such as massaging my legs
o Taking me to groups and appointments
o Support with household chores.
o Certain elements of personal and continence care (changing pads)
o Getting me ready for bed in the evenings
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
- Empathetic and motivational with a positive attitude and good sense of humour
- Trustworthy
- Someone who will enjoy being part of my development and rehabilitation journey.
- Confidant & social
- Flexible
HOURS OF WORK
7am – 8am x 5 days
1 hour morning call to assist with transfer out of bed, assist to shower, support with continence care, breakfast, getting pm ready for the day.
2pm – 2.30pm x 5 days
30 minutes to support with continence care, toileting.
9pm – 10pm x 5 days
Support to change my pads for the evening and put my nightwear on, prepare a drink, and put me to bed, as I currently cannot get my legs into bed myself.
Plus 4.5 hrs a week to take me out into the community a total of 17 hours per week.
• Please note, that the hours and days of work are negotiable following a successful interview, plus we are also accepting applications for each shift, as an entire day of work may not suit all.
