DBS requirement: A Basic DBS is required for this role
The role:
To support the delivery of the Rent Regulation Project by providing tenants with advice relating to any refund owed to them, assisting the Project Manager in ensuring timely and customer-focused service, and contributing to the project's overall success through effective collaboration.
Key responsibilities:
Deliver project objectives, seeking guidance from the Project Manager when needed
Collaborate with the Manager to track and adapt the project plan as requirements evolve
Support ongoing process improvements by planning, monitoring, and evaluating project delivery with the manager
Provide project performance data and analysis as required
Help compile and update status reports to present to managers, departments, Members, and stakeholders where necessary
Identify customers due refunds, verify and record bank details, and update contact info on the Housing Management system as needed
Ensure rent credits are processed promptly and customers are informed of refund timelines
Conduct all refund validity checks in line with refund and debt management policies
Ensure DWP requirements are met and housing benefit overpayments are recovered correctly
Keep accurate records and file documents appropriately for audit readiness
Flag suspected welfare benefit fraud to the relevant team for investigation
Support the Manager in interpreting data, procedures, and policy to communicate key insights

Degree-level education or equivalent experience in project management or project support
Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel proficiency and reconciliation expertise
Knowledge of case management & housing management systems
Experience of working with staff teams to embrace change, maintain high performance and seek to continuously improve services

Skilled at thriving in fast-paced, time-sensitive environments
