Behaviour Mentor | Derby, DE22 | £100 - £120 | Long Term to Permanent | September 4th 2025
LTF Recruitment are working with a school in Derby (DE22) that is eager to appoint a Behaviour Mentor to support 6-16 years old learners with special educational and behavioural needs. The school is built on flexible education, care, therapy and all students have an Educational, Health and Care Plans (EHCP).
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Work 1:1 and in small groups with identified KS3 students, implementing targeted interventions to support behaviour and emotional regulation.
- As a Behaviour Mentor you must collaborate with teachers and SEN staff to promote positive behaviour strategies within the classroom.
- Build strong relationships with students, listening to their needs and providing structured support to help them succeed.
- Use adaptive strategies to manage challenging behaviours, ensuring students are engaged and making progress.
- Set and monitor individual behaviour improvement plans, working closely with pastoral teams and parents where necessary.
Requirements:
- Experience working with Key Stage 3 students with SEN and behavioural needs in a school or similar setting.
- A relevant qualification in Education, Psychology, Health and Social Care, SEN, or Behaviour Support is desirable, Level 3 as a minimum.
- A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach to working with young people.
- Strong communication and de-escalation skills to support students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
