We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Social Work Assistant to join the Care Experienced Children Team who is as committed as we are in working towards and achieving positive outcomes for children and families.
The Care Experienced Children's Team work in partnership with many agencies including South Wales Police, health, education and the fostering service in order to support families and young people in line with the Social Services & Well Being (Wales) Act 2014, along with safeguarding our most vulnerable children.
The role will include, assisting in the provision of case management services, this will be through a combination of assessments and other practical interventions that assists with the day to day running of the service and achieves positive outcomes for children/young people and the families and carers of children who are looked after by the Local Authority.
Since 2023, Bridgend has implemented the Signs of Safety practice model, you will be given specific training on how this has been implemented into our team. You will be provided with a robust induction, regular supervision and additional support and mentoring when required. Additionally, you will be able to further your career through development opportunities and there is a competitive pathway to progressing to the social work secondment.

The ability to greet customers through the medium of Welsh is a requirement for this post.
Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.
An Enhanced with Childrens Barred list criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) is a requirement for this post.
A valid driving licence is requirement for this post.
