Rate Per Hour: £ On Negotiation
Hours: 8:30 – 4:30pm - Part Time – 3 Days A Week – Thursday, Friday & Every Saturday
Probationary Period: 3 Months
Salary Paid: via Cheque or Cash Weekly.
We are an established family jewellers Trading within the Birmingham Jewellery Quarter for the last four decades.
We are seeking a passionate, enthusiastic, hardworking and honest individual with at least 5 years experience within the retail and administrative industry to join our team on a Part-time basis to fulfil a Retail Sales Assistant role.
Previous experience in jewellery is desirable but not essential.
As part of your main role, you will need to be confident and able to work face to face with customers and suppliers.
You will be responsible for taking payments via a PDQ Machine and Cash.
Require the ability to work in busy and noisy environments.
Daily you will need to be able to lift heavy weights of stock in and out of safes and dress shop and windows.
Be physically able to transport repairs, distribute post, banking etc which involves walking and ability to move up and down stairs.
You will be responsible for the ordering, quality check and packing of new stocks and end of day stock checks.
Polishing and cleaning of stock and premises indoor and outdoor where and when required.
You need to independently be able to use all packages of Microsoft 365 especially Word, Excel and Teams.
Gmail and Supplier Websites/Apps including HMRC for posting VAT Returns etc required by the Proprietors of the business.
Have a high level of attention to detail and accurate data entry.
A smart and well-groomed appearance.
Salary increases awarded upon demonstration of knowledge of jewellery gained and overall performance.
Due to security reasons, two members of staff are required to always be on the premises so we require you to waiver an off-site break, however toilet and refreshments facilities can be used throughout the day in between sales.
Be flexible to change your working day of the week at short notice, be able to cover colleagues’ holidays and sickness.
Holiday: 28 Days including Statutory and Closed Days Pro Rata.
Any additional hours worked are paid at the hourly rate, with no additional annual leave or allowances.

We require a high level of attention to detail in role and request a minimum of the below qualifications:
English & Maths - GCSE Grade C or 5 and above.
Proof of Computer Literacy Skills
We will require all applicants to complete a competency aptitude test during interview.
