The instrument co-ordinator plays a key role in ensuring that all surgical instruments and trays and associated equipment are prepared, maintained and delivered in line with the clinical needs and infection control standards. The post holder acts as the main liaison between theatres, the sterile services department and other clinical areas to ensure timely availability of instruments for procedures. They maintain accurate records, manage inventory levels, track instrument usage and co-ordinates repair or replacement. The role requires ahigh level of organisation, attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with multidisciplinary teams to support safe and efficient theatre operations.

Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.
• Organise schedules ensuring all daily instrument/equipment requirements are available in order to ensure all relevant theatres are resourced to meet performance objectives and standards, ensuring optimum service delivery.
• Liaise with all professionals in matters relating to sterilisation, decontamination processing.
o Oversee and manage distribution of surgical and medical supplies/equipment.
• Provide the first point of contact for all service users,resolve routine enquiries and complaints professionally in accordance with local standards and procedures. Escalate queries to relevant colleagues where appropriate.

• Attend relevant departmental meetings and contribute to continuous service development
• Liaise with both internal and external agencies verbally, in writing or in person to co-ordinate patient centred services, ensuring all Loan/Hire equipment is processed using the correct relevant documentation
• Collate information generated by others in order to maintain computerised patient information systems and ensure records are accurately recorded and updated as required. Provide accurate data as requested by other members of the multidisciplinary team.
