Summary


An opportunity has arisen to join the Women's & Children's Education Team as an Education & Practice Development Sister/Nurse who will
support the Education and Practice Development Lead in implementing education, training and practice development strategies within
Gynaecological services.

You will be supporting the concept of continuing professional development through the delivery of relevant programmes of education and training and monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of education, training and development across the CMG.

You will work clinically alongside registered and non-registered staff promoting and delivering education practice and the implementation of
policies to ensure a workforce ‘fit for purpose’ and ‘fit for practice’.

The role involves leading and implementing education, training and development strategies for Gynaecological areas. The successful candidate will also be heavily involved in supporting the Preceptorship Development Programme.

There will be an expectation that you participate in CMG development/ mandatory programmes and collaborate with the CMG Education team. Using your specialist skills to support clinical staff both working clinically and by more formal training you will be involved in new educational initiatives, professional & clinical development and managing projects so should therefore possess excellent leadership and communication skills.


You will be an experienced Band 6 RN with extensive experience, ideally working in a gynaecological environment . You will be clinically
competent, a student assessor and hold a degree with evidence of post registration development.

The successful candidate would need to be able to demonstrate a confirmed interest in and experience of initiatives in education and staff
development, good IT skills, and the ability to work autonomously and as part of a wider team of educators.

Support the Education and Practice Development Lead, and Sister / Charge Nurse in implementing education, training and practice development strategies.


Support the concept of continuing professional development through the delivery of relevant programmes of education and training across the
CMG.


Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of education, training and development across the CMG.


Work clinically alongside registered and non-registered staff promoting and delivering education practice and the implementation of policies to
ensure a workforce ‘fit for purpose’ and ‘fit for practice’.
In partnership with Local HEI’s and support the education, training and development of learners on both Pre and post Registration
programmes.


Deputise for the Education and Practice Development Lead.
You will be contributing to the management of the CMG Study Leave Budget by monitoring access via the UHL Non-Medical Study Leave Policy.


You will be expected to work innovatively within the Education Team towards the delivery of CMG CIP Plans


Actively facilitate staff development by ensuring all staff receives effective Preceptorship.


Actively facilitate staff development and support through clinical supervision and act as a supervisor and mentor.


Ensure all staff undertake and complete a comprehensive local induction programme.


Communicate effectively with the Education and Practice Development Team (CMG and Trust), Senior Nurses/ Matrons, Clinical Teams, Medical
and AHP staff and CMG Management Teams.


Share best practice in the clinical area and outside of the CMG.
Work clinically and effectively with ward staff to deliver education, training and ensure development is linked to their KSF Appraisal / PDP and needs of the service.


Promote team working within the clinical area and across the multi-professional team.
