The Deputy Director will provide strategic leadership and oversight of the department's digital assurance, compliance, and control functions. This post-holder will ensure the department's data and information is controlled and processed in accordance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies, and that effective controls are in place to mitigate risks and safeguard the data of our citizens, businesses, and partners.
Responsible for the data protection and cyber-security of the department this role will be critical in assessing our risk exposure and be key in advising on the design of new services and data analysis environments, playing a critical role in the sign-off of new initiatives within the department, providing advice on compatibility with prevailing regulatory requirements, and advising the Senior Information Risk Owner and senior committees on compliance. They are the point of contact for the Information Commissioner.
