The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a Research Grants Support Officer to gain experience in a research finance environment and to assist in the provision of a comprehensive and effective post award administration service for externally funded research projects. These roles underpin the administrative support to the research grants team: using the People and Money system to process transactions, manage the team mailboxes/call management system for queries and support, and assist with funder audits.
Your skills and attributes for success:
A positive, open-minded and enthusiastic attitude
Ability to prioritise and manage your own workload, work under pressure to tight deadlines, and cope with conflicting demands with high volumes of work
High level of numeracy with good attention to detail
Must be able to work as part of a team and also under their own initiative as required
Ability to establish effective working relationships and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
A finance background is desirable but not essential
Good knowledge of Excel, MS office and other IT skills
This position is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to have an experience in University professional services, in a department with a proven commitment to training and staff development. Please apply with a CV and a supporting statement explaining how you meet the knowledge, skills and experience required, and your motivation for applying for this post.
