Salary: Grade 10, £45,091 - £49,282 per annum.

37 hours per week

Your role:

Act as the appointed person/ responsible officer for the Council in relation to Fire and Building Safety for the housing and corporate stock. Provide advice and guidance and compile the necessary policies and procedures relating to the specific area of work and legislation. Develop and implement a housing and corporate inspection management policy for the council to ensure compliance with the current regulations. Assist with the management of compliance related documentation, including the company’s statutory certification, ensuring that asset lists are routinely validated and records kept up to date and shared appropriately.

Working with:

Statutory Compliance team Building Safety, wider statutory compliance team, planned works team and the voids team.

Support:

Support from the Statutory Compliance and Cyclical Maintenance Manager and everyone from the Statutory Compliance team.

Client base:

Wigan staff working in corporate buildings, residents and contractors delivering the servicing and remedial works.

About you:

Hold the appropriate certification of professional qualification relevant to the role or equivalent experience, HNC or ONC or equivalent in compliance or building safety or engineering or related subjects.

Hold full membership of the IFSM or IFE

Extensive experience of compliance inspections/ or supervision of projects in the public or private sector.

The role will be responsible for making things better, enabling change and supporting improvement within the electrical function for housing and corporate buildings.
