Are you a finalist or qualified accountant looking for a role where your expertise will make a real impact? LJMU is seeking a talented and driven Financial Accountant to join our dynamic Finance Department in a key and influential position.

What You'll Be Doing:
Reporting to the Finance Manager - Financial Accounts and Insurance, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering a professional financial accounting service across the University and its subsidiaries. Your responsibilities will include:
- Statutory reporting in line the HE/FE Sorp, and OfS Accounts Direction
- Leading on external audit
- Tax compliance, including complex VAT and Corporate Tax, UK and overseas
- Finance due diligence
- Supporting cash flow forecasting
- Interpreting complex financial and non-financial data
- Partnering with colleagues across departments to support financial decision-making
What We're Looking For:
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA finalist or qualified
- Degree or AAT qualified
- Strong technical accounting skills and attention to detail
- Experience in preparing complex financial statements and external audit
- Strong technical accounting skills and up-to-date knowledge of financial reporting standards
- Experience with complex VAT returns and financial software
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- A proactive, hands-on team player with leadership potential
