Summary
Early Years Educators | Dorset | Full Time | £26,500 per annum
Our client’s nursery in Honiton caters for children aged 0-6 years and is open 51 weeks a year, 7:45 am–6 pm. The setting features a large indoor play facility, a purpose-built sensory room, and a spacious outdoor area for safe exploration.
The nursery provides a warm, welcoming, and calming environment, with highly qualified staff supporting children’s learning through fun and challenging experiences. Families are actively involved, ensuring the best outcomes for each child. Meals are cooked on-site using locally sourced produce.
They are looking for an Early Years Educator to join their team and support staff and children while ensuring high standards of care and education.
Are you the right person for the job?
• Apprentice/Trainee: Receive support, guidance, and training while developing your childcare skills.
• Nursery Assistant/Nursery Nurse: Minimum Level 2/3 qualification with experience supporting children’s welfare, learning, and development.
• Senior Nursery Nurse: Experienced professionals (minimum 4 years post-qualifying) to lead and mentor staff, acting as role models within the nursery.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Qualifications: Level 2 or 3 Early Years Educator, Paediatric First Aid (desirable), up-to-date Safeguarding training
• Skills: EYFS knowledge, planning engaging activities, interpersonal skills with children, parents and staff, patience and creativity, safeguarding/health & safety awareness, teamwork, and willingness to learn
What will your role look like?
• Take shared responsibility for the welfare, learning, and development of a designated group of children.
• Plan and implement activities and experiences in line with EYFS requirements.
• Act as key person for a group of children when required.
• Maintain high standards of safety, hygiene, and cleanliness throughout the nursery.
• Support and liaise with parents, staff, and outside agencies to ensure the best outcomes for children.
• Senior roles will lead the team when the Supervisor is unavailable and provide mentoring to other staff.
• Comply with the nursery's policies and procedures and actively promote equality and inclusion.
