Our client’s nursery in Dorset caters for children aged 0-6 years and is open 51 weeks a year, 7:45 am–6 pm. The setting features a large indoor play facility, a purpose-built sensory room, and a spacious outdoor area for safe exploration.
The nursery provides a warm, welcoming, and calming environment, with highly qualified staff supporting children’s learning through fun and challenging experiences. Families are actively involved, ensuring the best outcomes for each child. Meals are cooked on-site using locally sourced produce.
They are looking for a Room Supervisor to join their team and lead one of their nursery rooms, supporting staff and children while ensuring high standards of care and education.
Are you the right person for the job?
• · Minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification with at least 2 years’ post-qualifying experience

What will your role look like?
• Oversee the daily supervision and smooth running of your designated nursery room.
• Ensure compliance with the EYFS Statutory Framework, nursery policies, and all legal requirements.
• Lead, mentor and support staff within your room, ensuring they are confident in their roles.
• Plan and implement engaging experiences that support children’s development and learning.
• Work closely with parents and outside agencies to support children’s welfare and progress.
• Maintain high standards of safety, cleanliness, and organisation across the setting.
• Support the Nursery Manager and Deputy, occasionally stepping in to oversee the whole nursery when required.
Qualifications & Skills
• Essential: Level 3 Early Years Educator (minimum), Paediatric First Aid, up-to-date Safeguarding training
• Desirable: Level 4/5 or management qualification
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Excellent knowledge of the EYFS and ability to implement it effectively
• Confident communicator with parents, staff and outside agencies
• Ability to plan creative and educational activities tailored to children’s needs
• Sound understanding of safeguarding, health & safety and child protection
• Experience with rota and ratio management
