· The post holder will assist in the delivery of high quality Tuberculosis (TB) nursing services (which are accessible and responsive) throughout the Trust at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital/West Middlesex and for the Royal Brompton Hospital to minimise and reduce the impact of Tuberculosis (TB). It is an integrated service that cares for TB patients as inpatients, outpatients and in the community. The post is cross site working however a base site will be allocated.
· The post holder will be working alongside other clinical colleagues to provide expert individualised care, treatment and support for this patient group and their families/carers independently in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team in line with local and national targets. They will play a key role within this team in order to ensure a seamless, co-ordinated and timely approach to care.
· The post holder will promote excellence in nursing practice through the integration of expert clinical practice, education, consultancy, acting as a specialist resource/role model and commit to nursing research and audit.They will evaluate through quality assurance initiatives and assessment of clinical outcomes.

· Perform advanced clinical skills in assessment &/or diagnosis &/or treatment.

· To provide professional leadership and management to nursing staff.
· Deputise for the Lead TB Clinical Nurse Specialist (line manager).
· Liaise with Public Health England with regard the epidemiology of Tuberculosis and the management of specific cases.
· To act as a role model in promoting equality of opportunity among staff in line with the Trust’s Equality and Diversity Policy as well as conducting equality impact assessments on policy and/or service changes.
· To ensure local TB policies/protocols and guidelines are developed and reviewed to reflect best practice and that staff are informed of changes and work within these.
· To lead the review and re-design of patient pathways and services to ensure that these meet the changing needs of patients while optimising resources.
