We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Cardiff to assist with the appointment of a Weighbridge Clerk, on a 4-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £13.05 - £16.88 per hour
Summary:
To operate and oversee the weighbridge function across waste disposal facilities, ensuring compliance with legislation, accurate recording of vehicle weights, and the maintenance of statutory documentation. The role requires excellent organisational, communication, and customer service skills to support the smooth operation of the sites.
Responsibilities:
Operate the computerised weighbridge system to weigh and record all vehicles delivering or removing waste/materials.
Organise, reconcile, and file documentation including legally required Waste Transfer Notes and Consignment Notes.
Control the reception of vehicles in compliance with legislation, checking and recording necessary documentation.
Liaise with site staff to ensure efficient site operations.
Process payments for waste disposal via card machine when required.
Qualifications:
Good standard of general education.
Requirements:
Willingness to undertake personal development and training.
Knowledge of waste reception control procedures.
Experience:
Experience of maintaining records and handling documentation across departments.
Experience operating computerised systems.
Experience handling card payments.
