A specialist SEN school in Ilford is seeking a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team from September 2025. Rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted, the school offers a supportive and inclusive setting where students aged 11–16 receive the tailored support they need to succeed

The Role – Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant:

As a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support students with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs, and moderate learning difficulties. Your work will involve both 1:1 and small group support, helping students engage with the curriculum, build confidence, and overcome barriers to learning.

This role is perfect for graduates in Psychology, Education, or related fields, or for individuals with experience in mentoring, youth work, or care. Strong communication skills, empathy, and the ability to stay calm under pressure are essential.

Ideal Candidate – Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant:

• A 2:1 degree or higher (Psychology or related subjects advantageous)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Resilient, adaptable, and calm in challenging situations
• Previous experience with SEN or in youth support roles is desirable but not required
• Must have the right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available)
