Oxford
Are you passionate about tackling homelessness and making a real difference in people’s lives? Our client is looking for a Part-Time Floating Support Worker to help sustain the effective delivery of the Housing First approach across Oxfordshire.
In this role, you will work closely with the Oxfordshire Homeless Alliance, a collaborative network of Housing Associations and Local Authorities, to identify, engage, and support individuals in need of stable housing. You’ll play a vital part in connecting tenants with essential services and activities, empowering them to rebuild their lives.
Key Responsibilities
Your role will involve a diverse range of tasks, including:
• Providing flexible support across the Cherwell district, assisting the Housing First team with client engagement, key working sessions, and risk-responsive support.
• Ensuring consistent coverage and resilient support, particularly during staff absences.
• Helping to develop and document individualised support plans that prioritise client choice and independence.
• Representing our client at relevant meetings and advocating for Housing First principles with housing providers and local authorities.
• Maintaining accurate case notes, risk assessments, and safeguarding records using our client’s database.
• Assisting the Housing First Project Manager with data collection and reporting.
• Encouraging clients to participate in wider charitable projects and development opportunities.
• Approaching the role with enthusiasm, adaptability, and a solution-focused mindset.
What We’re Looking For
• Someone who is empathetic, proactive, and committed to supporting individuals experiencing homelessness.
• A team player who is flexible and able to adapt to different challenges.
• An individual who aligns with the core principles of Housing First and is passionate about client-led support.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a dynamic and impactful team, helping to change lives across Oxfordshire.
Due to the nature of this role, it is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
