Hygiene Operative
You must be eligible to work in the UK.
Due to our location and the working hours of the role, an own mean of transport is preferred as public transport can not be relied upon.
We are looking to increase our Hygiene Team. Have you got the experience we require and are you up for a new challenge?
As a Hygiene Operative for GCL Food Ingredients based in Newthorpe, you’ll be joining an industry leader and performing various duties within our ever-growing production facility.
Working within an exciting and fast paced environment, you will be a key member of our Hygiene Team and will ensure the service we provide to our customer is of exceptional quality. The role can be physically demanding with a good amount of pushing, pulling and lifting involved.
The typical role of a Hygiene Operative involves working in a small team to complete all required hygiene related tasks. You will work closely with the Hygiene Supervisor and Hygiene Manager to produce a clean, sterilised production area and equipment.

Working Hours: Monday - Friday
Hours: 16:30 – 01:00 – Some flexibility required
Salary: £13.16 per hour
Main Duties will Involve:
Carry out day to day hygiene activities in line with daily requirements ensuring operational integrity.
To ensure all production and ancillary records (e.g. cleaning records) are completed accurately and submitted as appropriate.
To ensure that all production areas are maintained in a clean and tidy fashion and in line with Good Manufacturing Practice.
Create and maintain a tidy working environment, ensuring that Clean As You Go requirements are adhered to at all times.
Cleaning and sanitizing of equipment as per the hygiene schedule.
To strip, clean and re-assemble equipment/machinery as required.
To ensure that the High Risk Area is fogged on a weekly basis.
To ensure that hygiene chemicals are always available in the hygiene station.
To ensure that hand wash stations are kept stocked with soap, alcohol hand sanitizer and hand towels.
Ensure all tasks and schedules are carried out according to the standard cleaning procedures in terms of GMP, food safety, presentation and housekeeping.
Adhering to COSHH related policies and procedures such as Chemical controls, standard operating and cleaning procedures etc.
Adhere to strict processes relating to the site Allergen procedures as applicable.
Review equipment and highlight damage, escalating as necessary.
Identify and highlight any opportunities that make sustainable improvements to increase quality, performance and to promote a good health, safety environmental culture within the department.
To ensure that all work is undertaken in a safe manner and that the Company Health & Safety requirements are followed at all times.
To undertake any other reasonable request from the Hygiene Supervisor/Manager
Requirements:
Be available from 16:30pm until 01:00am
Be able to work from Monday – Friday. Occasional Saturday if requested and desired.
Previous experience within a food factory environment is required.
Reliability and Punctuality is a must.
Good communication skills and basic maths is required.
Good tidy practice and organisation skills are required.
