About The Team:

School of Veterinary Medicine and Biosciences

The first new School of Veterinary Medicine in Scotland for 150 years.

Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC) has developed an innovative new School of Veterinary Medicine & Biosciences. We have a clear ambition to ‘promote the resilience of our graduates to sustainably support the animals and rural communities at the heart of Scotland’s Natural Economy’.

Wayne Powell, SRUC Principal and CEO. ‘We are an ambitious institution with a bold vision for the future. This is a ground-breaking model to expand access to educational opportunities and broaden the range of potential students who would not ordinarily be able to attend a School of Veterinary Medicine. It will also help solve existing skills shortages across Scotland’.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented individual to coordinate the administrative activities related to assessments within the School of Veterinary Medicine and Bioscience (SVMB). The successful candidate will oversee the systems used to deliver both written and practical examinations, troubleshoot issues, provide training to colleagues, and support the implementation of new systems and processes.

A key aspect of the role involves managing and coordinating data across the school, with a particular emphasis on supporting the accreditation of the Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSci) programme. The postholder will be responsible for creating and maintaining a variety of data sources, working collaboratively with academic staff, professional services, and other administrative colleagues to ensure data accuracy and integrity.

We are looking for someone with strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders. Experience in managing complex administrative systems and handling data in an academic or professional setting would be highly beneficial.

Minimum Qualifications:

To be considered for this role you should hold a qualification in digital administration, information management, or a closely related discipline at SCQF Level 8 or above (e.g. HND or equivalent). You must also have proven experience in handling, processing, and managing substantial datasets.

Please read the Job Particulars document for full details of the requirements for this role.

Eligibility for Sponsorship:

This role is not eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route. If you are a migrant worker, you will need to ensure you have an appropriate visa to evidence the necessary right to work in the UK.
