The Role

Are you experienced in cleaning roles and confident working independently? Can you help create a safe, clean and welcoming public space in the heart of North Kensington?

The Westway Trust is a unique charity that looks after 23 acres of land under the Westway A40. We work with the local community to help North Kensington thrive. We are now looking for a part-time Cleaning Operative to support our new community toilet initiative on Acklam Road.

As Cleaning Operative, you will provide supervised access to the public toilets and ensure they are clean, safe, and well-maintained. You will follow a clear cleaning routine, carry out regular checks and be a friendly, reliable presence for visitors.

Up to 30 hours per week (between 7.45am and 6.45pm, Monday to Sunday), Working patterns will be discussed at the interview stage.

Key Responsibilities:

Open and lock the toilets each day and return the key to Westway Trust
Carry out a consistent cleaning schedule using appropriate materials and methods
Clean all sanitary ware, floors, windows, and public areas to a high standard
Restock toilet paper, soap and other supplies as needed
Report low stock, repairs and incidents to the Facilities Manager
Ensure safe use of equipment and chemicals
Support health and safety standards, including regular checks and lone working protocols
Work cooperatively with other cleaning team members

The Person

We’re looking for someone with:

Minimum 3 years’ cleaning experience
Physical stamina to carry out a demanding cleaning role
Good knowledge of cleaning products and safe use
Reliable, professional and able to work independently
Good communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Willingness to follow instructions and learn
