Based primarily at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital site, this varied role includes working across inpatient settings, supporting outpatient clinics, and visiting patients in their own homes.

You will work alongside a team of specialist respiratory nurses and physiotherapists, with close collaboration across the wider multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will have previous healthcare experience with a keen interest in respiratory care. A full UK driving licence is essential, as travel to patients own homes is required.

Please note we can't offer sponsorship for this role.

Main duties of the job include:
• Supporting the specialist respiratory team in the care of patients with chronic respiratory conditions
• Assist in outpatient oxygen clinics and conduct home visits for patients on home oxygen therapy
• Provide patient education, supporting self-management and understanding of respiratory conditions
• Carry out basic inpatient reviews and report findings back to specialist nurses and physiotherapists
• Signpost patients to appropriate services and escalate concerns appropriately within the team
• Participate in clinical audits and input patient-related data accurately
• Monitor and maintain stock levels to support smooth service delivery
• Work flexibly across Royal Bournemouth Hospital, Poole Hospital and within the community as required

UHD are investing in services across the Trust, with many being transformed and developed following merger and the New Hospital Programme.

This means that some services may move site this year or next, either temporarily or long term. Recruiting Managers interviewing for this role will be happy to answer any specific questions that you have about this at interview.

Upon relocation of the role/service, excess mileage allowance / reimbursement will not apply, and any travel between the postholder’s home and work base will be classified as a commute. Any other changes unrelated to this, will be handled in line with Trust/National terms and conditions.
