Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Plasterer with building expertise to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying plaster to walls and ceilings, ensuring a smooth and durable finish. This role requires a keen eye for detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship. The Plasterer will work on various projects, from residential homes to commercial buildings, and must be able to work both independently and as part of a team with some good experience of building and laying blocks where required.
Key Responsibilities
• Lay bricks, prepare surfaces for plastering by cleaning and smoothing walls and ceilings.
• Mix plaster according to specifications and apply it using appropriate techniques.
• Ensure that all plastering work meets industry standards and client expectations.
• Repair any damaged plasterwork, including filling cracks and holes.
• Collaborate with other tradespeople such as carpenters and bricklayers on-site.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition, including power tools and hand tools.
• Follow health and safety regulations while working on-site.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
• Proficiency in masonry techniques, with a strong understanding of plaster application methods.
• Experience using power tools and hand tools relevant to plastering tasks.
• Knowledge of bricklaying principles is advantageous.
• Ability to perform basic carpentry tasks may be beneficial for certain projects.
• Familiarity with roofing work can enhance versatility on job sites.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality finishes.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
Desirable Attributes
• Experience working in construction, architecture, or property development environments
• Hands-on skills in decorative painting, wallpapering, and surface treatments
• Portfolio demonstrating design concepts through to completed spaces
• Familiarity with BIM or other digital construction tools
• Understanding of ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001)
