Trust Housing’s Assets and Sustainability Team is recruiting a full-time Planned Works and Compliance Officer. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of managing and delivering planned works and cyclical compliance contracts. The post is full time with blended working and a flexible working hours policy in operation. Expect to travel throughout mainland Scotland and Highlands, on a regular basis, with overnight stays required on occasion.

The candidate will have experience of:

• Team management and workload prioritisation
• Good technical background in installation and maintenance of building components and building services systems
• Demonstrate experience in monitoring cyclical compliance contracts, interpreting planned preventive maintenance reports and overseeing associated remedial works
• Be self-motivated, organised, and capable of working independently
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Technical qualification (HNC or equivalent) whilst IT literate with experience of MS Office and Teams

Planned Works and Compliance Officer

• Design & Specification: Collaborate with consultants, colleagues, and customers to prepare designs and specifications for refurbishments, adaptations, and upgrades to Trust properties.
• Procurement: Use various procurement routes including quotations, works schedules, and external frameworks. Prepare pricing documents in line with Trust policies and statutory requirements.
• Contract Management: Oversee building component and services replacement contracts. Chair meetings, manage timelines, inspect works, authorize payments, and ensure completion documentation (certificates, manuals, H&S files) is collected.
• Technical Support: Provide guidance during maintenance and compliance servicing. Diagnose issues and recommend solutions.
• Compliance Monitoring: Review servicing contracts and maintenance reports to ensure delivery meets specifications. Identify and implement improvements.
• Quality Control & Reporting: Conduct inspections and audits. Prepare reports for internal use, including the Annual Return of Charter and performance reports for the Board.
• Health & Safety: Demonstrate knowledge of regulations including asbestos, water hygiene, fire, electrical, and gas safety. Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and manage related documentation.
• Customer Care: Communicate with customers and stakeholders, manage complaints, and ensure timely resolution with regular updates.
