We’re looking for a passionate and dependable Cook to join our kitchen team at Postern Gate. We’re all about fresh, flavour-packed cooking with a love for street food, and we’re seeking someone who shares that same enthusiasm. The ideal candidate will have experience preparing high-quality dishes in a fast-paced kitchen, while maintaining a clean and organised workspace. You’ll be working closely with our friendly team, supporting our Head Chef across all kitchen duties. A positive attitude, team spirit, and a willingness to learn are just as important to us as experience.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and standards
• Ensure food is prepared in a timely manner and meets quality standards
• Follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area
• Assist with inventory and stock rotation
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service
• Adhere to health and safety regulations
Requirements:
• Proven experience as a cook or in a similar role
• Knowledge of various cooking techniques and kitchen equipment
• Pro active thinking and a strong work ethic
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Flexible schedule, including availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays
