JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a Chef de Partie to join a small team of kitchen staff under the supervision and management of the Head Chef and Sous Chef. A positive and hardworking attitude, both towards your role, your colleagues and working within a multicultural setting are essential.
Candidates will be assessed for experience of carrying out tasks forming part of the job description (below) and their conformity with the qualities outlined in the person specification (below), with careful attention to the latter.
Main duties
Reporting to the Senior Sous Chef and Head Chef, your duties will include:
• Preparing, cooking and serving fresh, local produce to an extremely high standard
• Assisting in the preparation of all sections for service
• Supporting and collaborating with fellow team members efficiently
• Liaising with care home staff on client needs and requests in a constructive and friendly manner
• Calm and reflexive problem solving
• Contributing to and adapting to day-to-day events as they unfold
• Adhering to set food safety systems
• Assisting with the management of health and safety
• Assisting with the management of food hygiene practices, including cleaning and checklist maintenance
PERSON SPECIFICATION
The right applicant for this role will meet the following requirements:
• At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role within a quality hotel or restaurant
• Food Hygiene Certification
• DBS
• NVQ Level 2 or higher
• Own Transport
They will, above all, possess the following personal qualities:
• A proven professional attitude towards all aspects of their work and interactions with others
• A hardworking, organised and efficient approach to working
• A genuine team player, who enjoys collaborating with and supporting colleagues from a variety of backgrounds
• A calm, kind and friendly disposition
• The ability to work under pressure and with minimal supervision
• An interest in food and developing their skills and knowledge
