Drainage Operative
Location: Hickstead
Salary: £13.00 per hour
We are seeking reliable and motivated Drainage Operatives to join our team, working on the highways drainage network to ensure it remains safe and efficient.
In this role, you will carry out dye testing to check the flow of surface water drainage systems, helping to identify blockages, faults, and other issues that could lead to flooding. You’ll play a key part in keeping local infrastructure running smoothly and protecting communities from surface water problems.
This role will begin on a temporary contract however has the potential to become permanent.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct dye testing on highways drainage systems to assess flow and performance
- Identify faults, blockages, and potential risks within the network
- Record findings clearly and accurately, both in writing and verbally
- Work independently to resolve problems and ensure issues are reported promptly
Requirements:
- Full UK driving licence
- Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to work alone
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Previous drainage experience and/or CSCS card (advantageous but not essential)
Pay and Hours
- £13.00 per hour
- Monday to Friday
- 06:00 – 16:30 (10 hours per day)
