Purchasing Assistant
Based in Sheppey | Part Time 20 hours per week | £12.50 - £13 per hour

Are you an organised, detail-oriented individual with experience in purchasing or supply chain support?

We're looking for a Purchasing Assistant to play a key role in supporting supply chain operations. This is a fantastic opportunity to work flexibly, develop professionally, and become part of a supportive and inclusive international organisation.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring stock levels and identifying purchasing needs
  • Updating internal systems with accurate order details
  • Tracking orders and ensuring timely deliveries
  • Maintaining product data based on supplier information
  • Communicating with suppliers to confirm or amend orders
  • Researching and evaluating potential vendors
  • Liaising with warehouse staff to ensure order quality
  • Collaborating with external sales, applications, and engineering teams
  • Supporting wider company initiatives
  • Using SAP By Design (training provided)
  • Performing general duties as required to support the purchasing function

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Purchasing Assistant, Purchasing Officer, or similar
  • A good understanding of supply chain processes
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Friendly and professional telephone manner
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to understand and manage customer needs effectively
  • Confident IT skills, including MS Office
  • A proactive, results-driven approach and team-oriented mindset
