Job Description: We are seeking an experienced and motivated Warehouse Team Leader to oversee daily operations in our chilled warehouse environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of warehouse operatives, ensuring efficient receipt, storage, picking, and dispatch of chilled goods while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, motivate, and support a team of warehouse operatives to achieve daily operational targets.
- Oversee inbound and outbound processes, including goods receipt, put-away, picking, and loading within chilled storage areas.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, health & safety, and hygiene standards in line with company and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct daily team briefings, assign tasks, and monitor progress to ensure operational efficiency.
- Train, coach, and develop team members, providing ongoing feedback and performance management.
- Monitor stock accuracy and assist with cycle counts, stock investigations, and inventory control.
- Ensure warehouse equipment is used safely and report any defects or maintenance needs.
- Maintain accurate records of shift performance, incidents, and productivity reports.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying process gaps and recommending solutions.
- Act as first point of contact for any operational issues on shift, escalating where necessary.
Requirements:
- Previous experience of working in a similar role is essential and you should have a good working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and prioritising workload.
- Attention to detail.
- Solution-driven and flexible approach to work.
- Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
