Role Overview:

The End User Device Team is accountable for MDM Services, device imaging, computing hardware standards, remote support tooling and other computing standards.

The End User Device Manager is responsible for the strategic and operational management of all end user devices across the organization, including laptops, desktops, mobile phones, tablets, and peripheral equipment. This role ensures the end-to-end lifecycle management of devices — from procurement and deployment to support, maintenance, and decommissioning — aligning with business needs, security standards, and user experience expectations.

The manager will lead a team comprising a Team Leader and four technical specialists, fostering a culture of service excellence, continuous improvement, and innovation in device management.



Key Responsibilities:

Device Lifecycle Management


Oversee the full lifecycle of end user devices: procurement, configuration, deployment, support, upgrades, and disposal.
Ensure devices are compliant with corporate security policies and regulatory requirements.
Manage and configure MDM platforms (e.g., Microsoft Intune, Apple Business Manager, Samsung Knox, SOTI Mobi Control).
Liaise with hardware and software vendors for procurement, support, and service level agreements.
Oversee timely deployment of OS and application patches to ensure device security and performance.


Team Management & Development


Line manage and coach direct reports, handling performance, development, and recruitment
Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing within the team.


Operational Excellence


Ensure timely and effective resolution of device-related incidents and requests.
Monitor and report on device performance, usage, and support metrics.
Drive standardization of device configurations and support processes.
Maintain End User Support and build documentation


Strategic Planning & Innovation


Develop and maintain the device strategy aligned with digital workplace goals.
Continuously assess and improve the end-user experience with devices, including performance, accessibility, and usability.
Work closely with service desk, infrastructure, and procurement teams to align device strategy with broader IT goals.


Asset Management


Maintain accurate records of all devices, including ownership, location, and lifecycle status.


Project Delivery


Lead or support IT projects involving device rollouts, upgrades, or migrations.




Skills & Experience Required:

Essential:


Proven experience in managing end user devices in a large enterprise.
Strong leadership skills with experience managing technical teams.
In-depth knowledge of Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android platforms.
Familiarity with MDM solutions (e.g., Intune, SOTI MobiControl), endpoint security, and device imaging.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.


Desirable:


ITIL certification or equivalent service management experience.
Experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Autopilot, and Zero Trust principles.
Knowledge of accessibility and inclusive technology practices.
