We are looking for a motivated and driven individual to join the Quartermasters (QM) Department in the role of Transport Manager at Yorkshire Officers' Training Regiment (YOTR). We are looking for a friendly, well-organised and adaptable person to work alongside other civilians and military personnel and be part of the team.

Key responsibilities:

Booking, allocating, accounting and maintenance of all vehicles including managing all software programmes provided.
Implementation of JSP 800, unit MT SO (Military Transport Standing Orders) and all statutory documentation to meet current statutory requirements.
Secure, issue and account for all stores associated to the Transport dept.
Act as a unit spill responder, energy warden and first aid at work responder as and when required.
Assist in the safe storage and issue of all COSHH items associated to vehicle use.
Provide Initial firefighting only if safe to do so.
Ensure all vehicles held are maintained in line with current servicing directives.
Provide driver tasks as required.
Manage JAMES, Clarity software programmes in support of the MT dept.
Ensures all lifting tackle and mechanical lifting equipment is maintained and records held.
Vehicle bookings, allocation and issue.
Vehicle records and associated documents.
Checking of all invoices against bookings and fuel drawn.
Implementation of JSP 800 and unit Standing Orders.
Support all managerial snap and planned inspections.
Provide assistance maintaining the unit’s driver training records.
Manage all stores and associated parts I accordance with current directives and unit standing orders.
Secure, issue and account for all COSHH items issued in support of the MT (Military Transport) dept.
Act as a unit spill responder as and when required.
Assist in the management of the units FMT 600, matrix testing registers.
Monitor and enforce driving hours in line with current regulations. Highlighting concerns to the MTO (Military Transport Officer).
Ensure all MT PPE is regularly maintained and inspected and records maintained.
Advice the MTO on vehicle availability and best cost-effective options to all submitted FMT 1000.
Responsible for supporting the quartermasters’ department ensuring the facility remains maintained, safe and fit.
Report any faults found to the quartermasters’ department.
Provide support to all energy saving processes within the ARC.
Assist the quartermaster’s department with the collection, delivery & storing of MT based stores and requesting of oils, lubricants and COSHH.
Firefighting - assist in the initial response to any fire within the ARC. The VM/Driver is to be fully conversant with the unit fire orders and calling the emergency services.
Energy Efficiency - to assist in the education and implementation of all energy saving practises and processes. Monitoring the heating regime and reporting all inconsistencies. Switching off any lighting, IT and electrical items not in use and reporting any water leaks.
First Aid at Work - provide first aid at work legislative cover within the ARC in an emergency during working hours.
