Step Teachers in Manchester are recruiting for SEN Teacher for an outstanding special needs high school in North Manchester that caters for young people with a wide range of needs from Autism to Complex Needs and Profound & Multiple Learning Disabilities.



Role: SEN Teacher at a special needs high school in North Manchester.

Start: September 2025.

Contract: Full time & long term - could go perm eventually for the right person.

Hours: 8:30am-4pm (3pm finish Fridays).

Excellent Pay: £160-£230/day DOE - paid PAYE direct via Step Teachers, we don't use Umbrella companies!

Paid to your usual scale rate from 13th week onwards.

Easily accessible by bus or car with free onsite parking.

What you'll do:
- Needs-based classes, grouped by ability rather than age. Class size max 10 students.
- Adapt teaching, delivering engaging, differentiated lessons.
- Collaborate with SEN staff, therapists, and leadership for the best outcomes.
- Lead your SEN TAs, ensuring a safe and supportive classroom.
- Monitor progress, providing personalized feedback to students, families & SLT.
- Prioritize well-being, developing life skills alongside academics.
- Use behaviour strategies, maintaining a calm and respectful space.
- Engage in training, professional growth, and school-wide initiatives.

The ideal candidate will:
- Must hold UK QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- ECTs with an SEN specialism and overseas-trained teachers with relevant SEN experience are welcome to apply.
- Skilled in differentiating lessons to meet diverse needs, abilities, and interests.
- A team player with strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Able to build positive relationships with students, families, colleagues, and external professionals.
- Adaptable, proactive, and capable of working independently.
- Experience in SEN or specialist teaching roles, such as SEN Teacher, Special Needs Teacher, Autism Teacher, Maths Teacher, Teacher of Maths.



What We Need from You:
- An up-to-date CV including a 10-year work history.
- Proof of Right to Work & Address in the UK.
- A valid DBS certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
- At least 2 professional references.
- Overseas Police Check (if applicable).
- QTS certificate or equivalent.
- A proactive, enthusiastic and hard-working approach.
