We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Years Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of early childhood education and have experience in food preparation, ensuring that children receive nutritious meals.
The role of the Nursery Cook is to provide nutritionally balanced, freshly prepared meals for the children in our care and to be totally responsible for the safe and hygienic management of the nursery kitchen.
Hours will be 9am-3pm
Duties and Responsibilities:
* To manage a daily running of the kitchen.
* To prepare and present fresh, wholesome meals and desserts that takes in to account all children’s allergies and recommendations.
* To adhere to the Food Standards Agency “Better Food, Better Business” recommendations. Maintaining necessary records, such as food temperature checks and stock levels.
* To meet all Health & Safety guidelines, maintaining the highest levels of food hygiene in the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations, and ensuring a safe environment for children and staff.
* Contribute and work alongside the management team to create and maintain a balanced menu, with adaptations made for festive periods and events.
* To work to strict serving times.
* Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, including cleaning duties and equipment maintenance. (Manage a strict and effective daily and weekly cleaning rota).
* Order supplies in line with menu, manging stock levels and ensuring efficient use of resources.
* Never leave the kitchen area unattended when appliances are in use.
* Ensure the effective and regular removal of waste materials to the designated waste area.
* These duties and responsibilities are not exhausted. You will be expected to carry out any duties in order to meet with the needs of the nursery and in line with company policies and procedures.
