College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences/Business School/Admissions, Marketing and Alumni Team

Full time: 35 hours per week

Fixed term contract: 12 months

We are looking for a Marketing & Recruitment Officer within the University of Edinburgh Business School, to cover a maternity leave period.

This post is advertised as full-time (35 hours per week). We are open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working. Most of the team currently works three days from home and two from the office.

The Opportunity:

Each September we welcome new postgraduate students to the Business School. Currently we have just under 900 postgraduate students representing around 70 different nationalities studying our 13 taught Masters and 2 MBA programmes.

The efforts of the team, including this role, are instrumental in delivering activity that raises awareness of our postgraduate degree programmes and enables us to meet our student recruitment targets. We are looking for someone who, in conjunction with the Student Recruitment Manager, can lead on many aspects of the student recruitment and marketing activity that will attract and convert well qualified applicants in order to meet the student recruitment objectives.

This is your opportunity to join a thriving school with a mission to create and share knowledge through research and education to make meaningful change for people, organisations and the environment.

For an informal discussion about the post, please contact Michael Chambers, Student Recruitment Manager by email on: Michael.chambers@ed.ac.uk

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) and at ease when dealing with a wide range of stakeholders including prospective students from a wide range of countries, current students, and colleagues both professional services and academic.
Ability to plan, prioritise, take initiative and find proactive solutions, contribute new ideas to projects, work unsupervised, under pressure and multitask effectively.
Strong IT skills across a wide range of programmes including MS office (particularly PowerPoint), online meeting platforms like Zoom/Teams, and other applications (for example, EventBrite, DotDigital, SharePoint)
Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
