What skills and experience we're looking for
The Ideal Candidate Will:
• Have proven experience and strong practical ‘DIY’ skills to identify, monitor, and carry out minor repairs, maintenance, and redecoration.
• Understand safe moving and handling procedures, and be physically able to perform the role’s demands (e.g. lifting, carrying, shifting furniture, clearing snow).
• Possess knowledge of Health & Safety and hygiene procedures, with an awareness of COSHH regulations and the ability to apply this knowledge appropriately (training will be provided where necessary).
• Demonstrate strong communication skills, enabling effective interaction with colleagues at all levels, governors, pupils, contractors, and external users of the school.
• Be reliable, punctual, hardworking, patient, flexible, and motivated, with a genuine commitment to working as part of a team.

Further details about the role
Your role will include:
• Ensuring the security, safety, and cleanliness of the school buildings and grounds
• Carrying out routine repairs, maintenance, and decoration work
• Supporting health and safety procedures, including regular inspections and accurate record-keeping
• Assisting with cleaning duties and porterage (moving and setting up equipment/furniture)
• Providing access and supervision for lettings and school events
• Overseeing cleaning staff and contractors, as required
