What skills and experience we're looking for
We are recruiting for a Catering Assistantto work at Southey Green Primary school in a busy kitchen catering on average for around 400 students per day.
We are looking for someone who has excellent customer care skills and displays a strong work ethic and deliver a food service of the highest standards consistently.
Your main duties include:
• Working closely with the Kitchen Supervisor to ensure the children receive a tasty nutritionally balanced meal every day.
• Prepare the dining area for service, including the moving and setting up of furniture and putting away
• Assist in the preparation, and serving of food and beverages
• Clean all equipment and catering areas.
• Cleaning of the dining area, kitchen surfaces, tables and equipment.
• Washing dishes, cutlery, containers, etc.
The ideal candidate will have:
• Previous catering experience in a similar environment would be preferred.
• An awareness of health, safety and security in the kitchen is preferred, but not essential.
• Ability to work well in a team and on own initiative.
• Ability to adapt to change and take on different tasks as and when required.
• A ‘can do’ attitude, prepared to assist the rest of the team
• Ability to communicate well with pupils & staff been polite and friendly at all times.
