Your Role
We are looking for a part time Business Support Officer to provide administrative support to the Stockport Interpreting Unit (SIU).
The SIU provides interpretation and translation services across Greater Manchester, including contracted and non-contracted services and delivers interpreter training courses and the Business Support Officer will carry out a range of administrative tasks to support the smooth running of the service.
Key activities include:
- Dealing with customer or colleague enquires via telephone, email and MS teams.
- Scheduling and organising both virtual and physical meetings, training courses and other events.
- General administration including ordering and dealing with invoices, monitoring email inboxes.
- Checking and processing timesheets to set deadlines and resolving any discrepancies.
- Receiving and processing personal documentation and data, including sensitive and confidential information; and keeping information safe and records up to date.
About you
You will have a commitment to providing a high standard of customer service with previous experience of dealing with internal and external customers. You will have strong organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to prioritise your own workload and work to tight deadlines. You should be computer literate and be confident in working with standard office IT applications including Word, Excel and Outlook and have experience of working on SharePoint. You will be expected to learn how to navigate in-house ICT systems including a bespoke booking system and will have a keen eye for detail working with different sources of data and information. You will be overseeing the payment of interpreters and ensure all necessary employment documentation and training records are up to date. Must be able to travel to the Hardman Centre as the postholder will be based in the office every Friday.
