Junior Quantity SurveyorWare - Full Time

Mitie are recruiting for a brand new Junior Quantity Surveyor to support on the assisting in managing the financial and contractual aspects of construction projects, working under the guidance of our senior surveyor. Responsibilities include estimating project costs, preparing tender documents, analyzing project plans, and ensuring projects stay within budget. They also help with material quantity assessments, supplier negotiations, and financial reporting.

What are the main responsibilities?

-Assisting in the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts for construction projects.



-Helping prepare tender documents, analyze bids, and manage contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.



-Tracking project costs, preparing financial reports, and ensuring projects adhere to budget and timeline.



-Assisting with measuring and calculating the quantities of materials required for a project.



-Identifying potential cost overruns and other financial risks associated with the project.



-Communicating with clients, contractors, and other team members to ensure everyone is informed about project finances.



-Assisting with the preparation and management of contracts, including variations and final accounts.



-Identifying opportunities to reduce costs without compromising quality.

What are we looking for?Education: A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field is typically required.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in using relevant software for cost estimation, quantity take-offs, and financial analysis.

Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for interacting with various stakeholders.

Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze project plans, identify potential risks, and interpret financial data.

Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.

Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with others.
