Your new role
As a Mechanical Technician within the Engineering Team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and operation of heavy plant and equipment. Key responsibilities include:
- Performing proactive and preventative maintenance on mechanical systems such as hydraulic systems, piston and multistage pumps, bridges, dock gates, and other critical infrastructure.
- Troubleshooting and repairing faults to ensure minimal disruption to operations.
- Ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations related to Health, Safety, Environment, Engineering, and Quality standards.
- Participating in an on-call rota for out-of-hours reactive maintenance (1 week per month) with additional pay.
- Supporting the engineering maintenance plan and inspecting assets within your designated area.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A mechanical engineering apprenticeship background, ideally with experience in heavy industry.
- Hands-on experience with hydraulic equipment, pumps, lock gates, bridges, and PLC systems.
- Familiarity with CMMS systems for fault and defect reporting.
- A strong commitment to health and safety standards.
