These posts will be aligned to a specific Student Association President
Grade 3. Salary £27902 to £30151 per annum pro rata
(Initial salary placement will normally be on the first point of the scale and will increase by annual incremental progression)
West College Scotland is modern, inclusive, ambitious and innovative. Winners of multiple awards, including The Herald’s Top Employer Award for our pioneering use of Digital Technologies, we are one of the largest Regional Colleges in Scotland with campuses in Clydebank, Greenock and Paisley. We deliver exceptional learning and vocational training opportunities to the West of Scotland region.
These posts offer exciting opportunities to advance student engagement by supporting and promoting the work of West College Scotland’s Students’ Association. You will be aligned to support the activities of the 3 Student Association Presidents on each campus. You must have a clear understanding of the role of the Student Association and be able to display effective communication and administrative skills.
Working with and supporting the Student Association will involve:
• Assisting SA office bearers in coordinating and managing their activities.
• Providing administrative support [such as minute taking, raising Purchase Orders, booking rooms, and updating Social media platforms];
• Liaising and communicating with external agencies [such as NUS, sparqs] and attending internal and external meetings.
• Leading the recruitment and training for the Student Association Class representatives.
• Supporting the work of the Student Rep Council, Liberation Officers and Class Representatives.
• Obtaining student feedback from Focus Groups and assisting with stakeholder surveys regarding the work of the Student Association
• Evaluating the effectiveness of Student Association activities and making recommendations for improvement
These are campus-based positions. Working hours will be aligned to the days the Student Presidents are on campus to allow full support. The posts are currently scheduled to run until June 2026, at which time the posts will be reviewed. Where relevant, suitable training will be provided, and CPD opportunities will be encouraged.
