We are seeking a Holiday Club Manager for our children’s holiday club in Bradway. Hours are approximately 15 per week (usually 3 afternoon shifts) - we are open 8am-6pm Monday to Friday during the Sheffield school holidays.
Starting date asap. The successful candidate will receive training and be expected to manage independently by Christmas school holiday with support from the Senior Playworker.

Qualifications required:
Paediatric First Aid
Driving license and have transport.
Relevant qualifications such as childcare or education.

Experience:
At least 2 years Deputy or Designated Safeguarding Lead experience.
At least 2 years of experience being paediatric first aid trained and dealing with children’s minor injuries.
At least 2 years of experience managing children and staff.

Duties:
·Liaising with other managers and the club owner.
-Familiarity with, and confidence to, enforce safeguarding policies and procedures and challenge any concerns, such as using the register to check children leave with named individuals, ensuring staff follow the code of conduct, dealing with disclosures or allegations promptly etc.
· Deputy safeguarding lead duties
· fire warden (training included).
· Fulfilling safety officer duties – completing safety walks, dealing with hazards promptly, reporting any concerns, etc.
· Working towards being able to train new staff.
· Confidence to deliver first aid competently and be able to deal with emergency situations.
· Confidence to direct children and staff.
· Understands the importance of following club policies and procedures and has the confidence to challenge concerns or make suggestions for improvement.
· Able to positively represent the club when speaking to parents and guardians, including on social media.
· The confidence to answer parent questions or direct their questions appropriately.
· Understands the importance of getting to know the children and their needs and use resources appropriately to support them effectively.
· Act as a key worker for a small number of children in the early years stage, making effort to build relationships with them and their parents, get to know the child’s needs and situation, and act as an advocate for the family ensuring their needs are considered at the club.
· Completing forms accurately and in compliance with GDPR.
· Opening up the club and locking up (not every shift).
· Professionally liaising with other groups that use the premises to ensure the security and safety of the children and building.
· On occasion preparing afternoon snack for the children (this job is shared between staff), on completion of Food Hygiene and Allergens training (provided).
· Checking stock levels (food, cleaning products and toiletries) and passing on to club owner.
· Managing behaviour proactively and effectively.
· Leading activities and crafts.
· Some light cleaning duties which are shared between staff include pots, wiping sides and appliances, cleaning the toilets, sweeping and mopping and wiping up before and after children eat.
· Occasional personal care duties (all of the children who attend are toilet trained but you should be prepared to deal with accidents or any new children who register who may need support).
· Managers will also be expected to complete some work outside of opening hours, such as familiarising themselves with planned activities, policies, or completing CPD.
· Reliability – the holiday club is a small business which relies on its great team of staff. Absence comes at a cost to the club.
This list is not exhaustive, full training will be given.

Contract:
The contract will initially start on a probationary period as a zero hours contract. This will be reviewed after 3 weeks of school holidays and then you may choose whether to go onto a permanent contract or remain on zero hours, depending on what suits you. The hours are likely to be 15 hours per week during school holidays. The pay (£16 per hour) is made up of basic hourly rate of £14.28 and holiday pay (an additional 12.07%) rolled in.
