An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of Chief AHP in the Nursing, AHP & Quality Directorate at CPFT.
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Allied Health Professional working in the organisation. The role will hold a diverse portfolio and work closely with the Chief Nurse, Deputy Director of Quality and Deputy Chief Nurse. The post holder will be a key member of the Corporate Nursing, Allied Health Professions and Quality Team, with specific responsibility for deputising for the Executive Chief Nurse across all aspects of the role.
As Chief Allied Health professional, the post holder will provide expert professional leadership and governance for the Trusts Allied Health Professions.
The postholder will contribute to the strategic development of nursing, AHP’s, clinical governance and risk, supporting the Executive Chief Nurse in providing leadership to the nursing and AHP workforce for the delivery of the professional agendas across the Trust.
The post holder will support the development, implementation and maintenance of Trust wide nursing and AHP policy and best practice. The post holder will lead the development and implementation of systems and processes that place patient quality, experience and safety initiatives at the core of Trust practice and business.
They will promote a culture of learning and openness and ensure clinical staff have the knowledge, capability, systems and support to embed lessons learned in practice.

• To fully deputise for the Chief Nurse across all aspects of the role. To provide professional leadership to all AHPs, and also nursing and other non-medical staff, promoting high standards of care and a responsive workforce.
• To lead on CQC compliance for the Trust, ensuring any key actions are fully implemented.
• To work with the Chief Nurse and the Medical Director on the development and implementation of the Trust’s clinical quality strategic objectives.
• To effectively manage overall AHP staffing issues across the Trust.
• The post holder will support Patient Safety and clinical governance across the Trust, ensuring the implementation of national and local Quality and Safety initiatives and contractual obligations in relation to quality and safety reporting.
• The post holder will support the implementation and development of the clinical governance framework through Directorates, develop innovative solutions to quality and safety challenges and ensure lessons learned are embedded in practice.
• To support the implementation of national quality drivers arising from national enquiries, working with clinical leads and management teams.
• To lead on the implementation of the national AHP strategy within the Trust, and contribute to local and national strategies including Nursing, AHP’s, Clinical Governance and Patient Safety by participating in external events and forums ensuring a visible CPFT profile.
