Summary
The Supply Service are recruiting for a Children's Day Care Manager to support local Childcare setting on the outskirts on Wrexham.
Monday to Friday
11:00am - 16:00pm
The manager would be the person responsible for setting the operational direction and organising the effective running of the day care provision. The manager will normally be the “person in charge” and may be the “registered person”.
Previous work with children is essential.
We are looking to appoint a manager/person in charge to manage/lead a newly established childcare provision.
The provision has been open since January 2025. This is a very exciting role which will be based at a local Primary School.
The standard working hours are 11am - 4pm. However, additional hours will be needed.
Main Responsibilities
To be responsible for and oversee the day-to-day management of the organisation including staffing and to ensure the smooth running of the provision.
To create a welcoming and family-friendly environment.
To be responsible, at all times for high standards of care and education of children in accordance with the EY framework, statutory requirements and our clients Childcare policies.
To order and maintain equipment and resources.
To be accountable and responsible for day-to-day financial systems directly relating to the setting.
To be responsible for admissions in line with the admissions policy, to keep a register and up-to-date records of all children using the provision and to give regular feedback to parents about their child’s development and progress.
To be responsible for the supervision and management of staff with varying levels of experience (including occasional monitoring of students).
Organise training.
Ensure effective communication with all stakeholders, Staff, Trustees and with all partner organisations e.g. Local Authority, Umbrella Body, CIW etc.
This post reports to the Trustees.
The successful candidate must oversee the management of the service, assure that the service is safe and well run.
The successful candidate must assure that the service complies with the service standards and regulations.
Essential Criteria:
Level 3 CCPLD qualification or equivalent
A minimum of 2yrs of childcare experience
Knowledge and understanding of the CIW National Minimum Standards
Excellent communication skills
Computer literate
Excellent organisational skills
Supervisory or management experience
Ability to work as a member of a team and to delegate accordingly
Knowledge and Skills
Welsh Language skills desirable or willing to undertake training.
First aid qualification desirable or willing to undertake training.
Warm and caring personality – friendly and approachable.
Knowledge, understanding and practical experience of playgroup settings.
Knowledge of child development and understanding issues around child development in order to support children of all abilities, including children with ALN.
