Position: Food Service Assistant

Location: Paisley- Paisley. PA4 9RF

Shift Pattern:Monday-Friday 09:00-13:00

Rate Of Pay:£12.21 Per hour

Purpose of the Job

The Food ServiceAssistant plays a vital role in delivering Sodexo’s commitment to exceptionalfood services and customer experience. This position supports the preparation,presentation, and service of food and beverages in line with Sodexo’s standardsof quality, safety, and hospitality.

The role operates in a fast-paced environment, working closely with a team of 12 people. to ensure seamless service delivery. By maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and customer care, the Food Service Assistant contributes directly to Sodexo’s reputation for excellence and client satisfaction.

Main Responsibilities

  • Comply with all company and statutory regulations relating to health & safety, hygiene, fire safety, COSHH, and safe working practices.
  • Assist in preparing food service areas and presenting food to agreed standards.
  • Prepare hot barista beverages.
  • Deliver high standards of hospitality and lunch counter service.
  • Provide prompt, friendly, and enthusiastic service to customers.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
  • Support sales growth opportunities through excellent service and product knowledge.
  • Operate tills and handle cash transactions as required.
  • Undertake cleaning duties, including equipment, fixtures, crockery, and dining areas.
  • Set up and restock service counters, tables, and utensils throughout service periods.
  • Participate in training and team meetings, including food hygiene and health & safety.
  • Assist with ad-hoc functions, which may occasionally take place outside normal working hours.
  • Report customer feedback (complaints and compliments) and take remedial action where possible.
  • Provide cover in other areas during staff absence (holidays or sickness).
  • Carry out additional reasonable tasks as directed by management.

  • Maintain compliance with all health & safety, hygiene, fire, and COSHH regulations.
  • Report accidents, incidents, or irregularities promptly and take appropriate action.
