Hours: 30/week
Pay: £7.55/hour
Locations: Splash, Forum & IB Leisure
Initial Swim Assessment Required at Billingham Forum

Apprenticeship Overview
Qualification: Community Activator Coach Level 2
Duration: 15 months
Requirement: Confident swimmer (swim test required at interview)
Swim Test Criteria:
Jump/dive into deep water
Swim 50m in under 60 seconds
Swim 100m front/back continuously + tread water for 30 seconds
Surface dive to pool floor
Climb out unaided (no ladder/steps)
Key Responsibilities
Ensure safe, efficient, and enjoyable use of facilities
Provide excellent customer service
Set up/dismantle equipment, clean areas, and maintain safety standards
Support emergency procedures (e.g., evacuation, drowning response)
Assist with events, competitions, and new activities
Offer advice on programmes and activities
Patrol facilities to prevent misuse or unauthorized access
Provide first aid and lifeguard support (once qualified)
Participate in regular lifeguard training (RLSS standards)
Prepare for special events and ensure equipment safety
Requirements
Essential: GCSE Maths & English (Grade C/4 or equivalent)
DBS Check: Enhanced Disclosure required
