Are you a detail-driven finance professional looking to make an impact in a fast-paced, forward-thinking organisation? Hays are recruiting for a Temporary Assistant Accountant to join a dynamic team in Stockton.
What You'll Be Doing
Reporting directly to the Financial Accountant, you'll play a key role in preparing monthly draft accounts and supporting core financial operations.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing monthly draft accounts, including:
- Fixed Assets & Depreciation
- Debtors & Creditors
- Accruals & Prepayments
- Irrecoverable VAT
- Loan Accounts
- Bank Reconciliations
- Net Pay, Tax, NIC & Pension Reconciliations
- Monthly Journals
- Assisting with quarterly VAT calculations and submissions via HMRC portal
- Supporting salary BACS payments from the bank
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in accounting or finance support roles
- Strong understanding of core accounting principles
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Experience with accounting software and Excel
