About the Role:
This is a strategic leadership role where you’ll oversee some of the most critical services across the Children’s Directorate and the wider Partnership. You will lead the Safeguarding Unit, supporting Oldham Safeguarding Children’s Partnership, LADO, Independent Reviewing Teams, and the Workforce Academy.
You'll work closely with the Principal Social Worker to champion high-quality, child-focused practice across the borough and drive our mission to keep every child in Oldham safe, supported, and thriving.
As Assistant Director, you will:
- Shape and deliver strategies that raise practice standards and improve outcomes.
- Lead transformation across workforce development, recruitment, and retention.
- Inspire teams and drive performance through clear, compassionate leadership.
- Represent the Council with external partners and stakeholdersadvocating for the needs and voices of children and families.
- This is an exciting opportunity to lead transformational change and to be part of a strong, stable leadership team that Ofsted recognises for its relentless focus on improvement.
