An exciting opportunity exists for an Acting Branch Librarian at Crickhowell Community Library, to cover for the existing Branch Librarian during periods of holidays or absence.
Crickhowell Community Library is manged by Crickhowell High School in partnership with Powys Library Service for the benefit of both students and the community.
Experience of working in a public library is desirable along with essential experience of using ICT.
Duties include:
• To be responsible for the efficient and effective day to day operational management of the branch library
• To ensure that procedures and practices are applied effectively and consistently, in line with service and corporate policies and statutory regulations
• To ensure that the stock in the library is current, relevant and customer focused in line with service policies
• To be responsible for the safe and secure operation of all financial systems and procedures in the branch library
• To promote reading and foster better awareness of library services through promotion, customer care and all other appropriate means
Salary
Grade 6, £28,127 pro rata / Actual salary: £15,211 per annum
Hours
20 hrs per week across 4 days (Library opening hours: Tuesday 10am – 1pm and 2pm – 5pm, Thursday 10am – 1pm and 2pm – 5pm, Friday 10am – 1pm and Saturday 10am – 12.30pm)
Fixed Term contract for one year.
